My name is Barry, and I come from Belfast in Northern Ireland.  On 20th September 2015, I developed Pneumococcal Meningitis, a form of Bacterial Meningitis.

I spent 11 days in hospital, two of them in Intensive Care, but despite suffering from extreme tiredness for many weeks afterwards, I made a full and complete recovery with no lasting issues.  I was very fortunate in many ways, but I am also aware that others have not.

This talks about my illness, my recovery, and what will be my fundraising efforts for the United Kingdom based charity, Meningitis Now.#

Also, a little bit about my life and travels, both fundraising for Meningitis Now,and also independently.
